About the company:

Jesmar was known for its baby dolls, including realistic newborns, as well as a variety of other play dolls that were made in Spain. In the 1980s, Jesmar made Cabage Patch dolls for the European market. They filed for bankruptcy in 2001, citing Chinese competition, and went out of business in 2005 after failing to work out a deal with a buyer.
