Dainty Louisa is the youngest of the seven orphan girls. The other girls call her the fairy princess. She is sweet and very lady-like She is happiest among flowers and hopes to have a large garden or flower shop some day. Johannah sometimes teases her about being so particular about things like mud on her shoes and being afraid of Grandma Sunday’s goat, Gertrude, but Suzannah tells her not to worry about Johannah’s teasing because she will most likely be a fine lady some day even if Johannah isn’t. Louisa loves the color blue and looks especially pretty in it. In the spring when the forget-me-nots bloom, Kathryn weaves them in the little braids that Louisa usually has on the top of her head like a crown. Then she really does look like a fairy straight from some magical story.
