About the brand:

From the Girls of Many Lands page when it was on AmericanGirl.com in 2002:

Let your imagination soar! Girls of Many Lands connects you with 12-year-old girls from long ago and far away who are facing the many challenges of growing up. Discover the beautiful books and dolls that give you a glimpse into their worlds!

These exquisite dolls were designed by Helen Kish, the famous and very talented doll artist. They were an amazing bargain at the $50 original cost and a steal at the $16 the eventually sold for when the line was discontinued after only two short years. The Kathleen doll is the most sought-after since she was produced for such a short time and was very popular. The books are also very well-written and interesting; they are written for older tweens.
