Starshine Dolls was created by Robin R. Holland. From the insert included with the dolls:
Starshine Dolls is dedicated to bringing you the finest in authentic Native American Dolls available. All the costumes are individually hand made by people in Colorado. There are no corners cut and all materials are real.
We often have people ask why the cost is so high on a vinyl doll. A porcelain doll would be exorbitant to produce in such a costume. We have chosen the best dolls available to dress in our delightful costumes at a price more people can afford.
Wich ala and Hok she La, our twins, were made by Furga especially for Starshine Dolls. Morningstar and Prairie Flower are dressed on a soft standing Gotz doll and the rest of our dolls are dressed on articulated Gotz dolls which are poseable.
We use a high quality modacrylic wig on each doll that is hand styled according to the tribal costume.
All moccasins and leather costumes are real. The leather work is all done locally by Diana Sodderberg of Lee Leather. Scars, insect bites and color variations are NATURAL marks and proff positive that this is GENUINE LEATHER. The natural variations in no way effect the strength or quality of this costume.
We use only real glass beads made in Czechoslovakia. We do not use plastic beads or ready made beadwork from China. We employ experienced craftsmen to create our authentic beadwork.
We would like to be able to offer more accessories with the doll but it would make the cost prohibitive. If you are interested in purchasing a beaded fan, a shawl or purse for your doll or yourself we can have them custom made for you.
Thank you for buying our dolls.
