From April's character page on the Ginger Brook Hollow website:

April is full of life and very observant. She likes adventure and dreams of traveling all over the world some day. She sometimes isn’t sure her life will be long enough to see all the things she wants to learn about. Her favorite color is pink, and her greatest passion is writing. She wishes that just once or twice Miss Gretchen would let her stay up all night to write, and of course she would like to do that with a bag of licorice to chew on when she has to stop and think. She is the record keeper for the girls in the orphanage, and she keeps a daily journal of all the things that happen to them. Some people say that April reminds them of an Asian beauty. Whether you agree or not, we think that you will find her personality to be lively and a lot of fun.
